Since a prostate cancer symptom can look the same as a symptom of something like BPH (enlarged prostate), it can be easy to mistake one for the other. It’s generally during routine examinations that prostate cancer is first detected. If you’re showing any of the following symptoms, you should probably go see your doctor immediately:

- Difficulty in retaining or passing urine

- The urge to urinate frequently, particularly at night

- Urine flow that’s weak or intermittent

- Painful or burning urination

- Urine or semen containing blood

- Difficulty in achieving an erection or painful ejaculations

- Frequent stiffness or pain in the lower back, upper thighs, or hips

There are other factors that can affect your risk of developing prostate cancer, which 1 out of 6 American men are afflicted with. This makes it the most common type of non-skin cancer for men. These other risk factor include:

Age. The risk rises sharply as men get older. Under age 40, the odds are roughly 1 in 10,000 to be diagnosed with prostate cancer. However, for men between the ages of 40 – 59, the rate increases to 1 in 38, and for men between 60 – 69, 1 in 15.

Family genetics. A man with a father or brother that’s been diagnosed with prostate cancer is 2 times more likely to develop it himself. If the prostate cancer was diagnosed in those family members at an early age (say, younger than 55), or if 3 or more family members were affected, the risk jumps greatly.

Race. African-American men have a 60% more likely chance to develop prostate cancer than men of Caucasian origin, with their odds of dying from the cancer being more than twice that of whites. For U.S. men overall, the risk of prostate cancer is 17%. Asian men living in Asian countries have the lowest overall cancer rate (2%), but for those who have moved into Western cultures, their risk has been shown to rise dramatically.

Location. Men living in cities above 40 degrees latitude (north of Columbus, OH, or Philadelphia, PA) have the highest risk of death from prostate cancer than for men anywhere else in the U.S. It is suspected that lower levels of sunlight during the wintertime reduces critical Vitamin D levels, increasing cancer risks.

Additional risk factors that can cause the exhibition of prostate cancer symptoms and the development of aggressive prostate cancer:

- Significant lack of high-fiber vegetables (e.g., broccoli) in the diet

- High calcium consumption

- Lack of exercise

- Excessive height.

Factors and conditions that apparently don’t increase the risk of developing prostate cancer include:

- Obesity, or having a high BMI (body mass index)

- Enlarged prostate (or BPH)

- Prostatitis

- An overly-active sex life

- Vasectomies

- OTC and prescription medications

- Alcohol

More than 200,000 new cases of prostate cancer are diagnosed each year in the U.S., and 32,000 men will die from it this year. Darrin Paulsent researched the subject to help men better distinguish between a true prostate cancer symptom and the more common prostate enlarged symptoms that are easily treatable.

As you become older you may become more aware of prostate symptoms and this will require you to pay a visit to your healthcare practitioner for assessment. The prostate is a male gland which carries sperm when ejaculation occurs. It surrounds the urethra, a tube through which the urine passes. Prostate enlargement is a common occurrence in males as they age.

The enlargement of the prostate will cause narrowing of the first part of the urethra. This will cause obstruction of the flow of the urine and will lead to prostate symptoms which include poor body flow. The flow of urine will weaken and emptying your bladder will usually take much longer. You will sometimes have to be patient for the flow to begin when you need to urinate. Once you reach the end of the urination, the flow will become like a dribble. The feeling of a full bladder will constantly remain with you.

The bladder may become aggravated because of the enlarged prostate. This causes frequency of urine passing. It is annoying if this happens during the night and having to get up to urinate several times a night is quite a common symptom which is termed nocturia. There is an urgency to reach the toilet as quickly as possible when you have the need to urinate.

Some of these symptoms will not worsen. Many men will not suffer from any serious complications from their enlarged prostate. Complications that can occur will include a complete blockage and this will prevent you from passing urine. It is uncomfortable and a catheter will have to be inserted to enable draining of the bladder.

Infection may set in if some of the urine remains behind in the bladder. It can also be the cause of incontinence as this blockage will prevent you from urinating but there might be slight dribbles where the blockage has occurred.

Normally examinations will be performed to enable health-care professionals to make accurate evaluations of the situation. They will check how big the prostate is. Urine tests and blood sampling will be performed so that the kidney functions can be checked. The kidneys will be checked to ascertain if there are any urinary infections and also to check for blood in the body liquid. If the symptoms you have are severe or if complications develop, you will have to be referred to a bladder specialist.

If treatment is required it will be dependent on the severity of the prostate symptoms and how much it affects your normal day to day life.

Many men are faced with prostate health problems in all parts of the world. Although older men are more prone to prostate problems, it may affect a man of any age. The prostate is a part of a man’s reproductive organs. This is a small gland surrounding the urethra. The gland assists in making semen.

Its main growth is normally during the puberty period after which it stops and restarts when a man is about 40 years old. The enlargement does not cease in a number of men. This enlargement does not affect some men but others end up experiencing complications. Such guys may develop prostrate related diseases.

BPH is one of the diseases and it refers to prostate that is enlarged. It is not a cancerous problem. As this gland grows, the urethra becomes pressed and as a result the urinary passage is narrowed. Symptoms could include incomplete emptying of the bladder, weak urine flow, frequent urination and other symptoms.

Prostatitis is the other prostate condition. The prostate becomes inflamed probably due to infection. The symptoms could include pain in the lower back, aching muscles and chills. Others are frequent and painful urination and fatigue among other symptoms.

The third condition is prostrate cancer . This condition develops slowly. The patient normally develops symptoms similar to BPH. Additionally, he may experience chronic pain in the thighs, hips or the lower back and blood in the urine.

You are advised to go for medical a checkup preferably after every year when you reach 40. This is to prevent this problem from developing extensively. A number of diagnostic exams are carried out by the doctor. This disease is manageable if diagnosed early enough.

There are a combination of methods to treat this disease. Proper diet is necessary plus exercising regularly. Losing extra weight is also recommended as overweight guys may be more prone to the disease. Other changes include limiting alcohol intake and stop smoking. Drink lots of water to cleanse the bladder and have regular sex as ejaculating empties the prostate.

A variety of medications may be prescribed by your doctor. Approaches that are non-surgical are available also for example microwave therapy or laser therapy and others. A doctor may recommend open surgery if the case is extreme.

Natural herbal supplements are also available. These are a mixture of natural herbs which are extracted from plants. Every herb in this mixture has a particular role that it plays to help in treating prostate.

Prostate health concerns a large number of men. If it is detected early this disease can be managed. One should go for regular medical checkups as he grows older.

While it read like a cliche, men derive much of their self worth and satisfaction from the abilities of their penis. If this were not true, the field of urology and erectile pharmacology would not be the bustling industries that they are. Erectile dysfunction, also known as ED, was once thought of as just a psychological issue and indeed there is a simple test that can be done to see if this is so. Lightly wrapping the penis in a small strip of paper before sleep and seeing if the paper is ripped the next morning, as a result of erection, can point to whether your treat the mind or body. For older men it is an issue of the body and science has found that there is a relationship between testosterone and impotence.

Testosterone is a hormone that exists in both sexes, but is predominant in men. Hormones can impact many bodily systems and if you have ever been with a woman suffering from premenstrual syndrome, can see how that can assert itself in mood swings.

The hormones of a man, including testosterone, are all under a blanket group of molecules called androgens. Androgens are connected to penile dysfunction. Traditionally, erectile dysfunction or ED, was thought to all be in a man’s head. Indeed for young men especially it usually is a matter of mind over body. As a man ages, things can change.

As men age, there are a number of diseases and disease risk factors that can come up as a result of androgen depletion. These issues are familiar to anyone going through the aging process including loss of muscle strength and mass, along with issues of bone density. Whether low testosterone causes these issues or these issues cause low testosterone is unknown, but low levels of the hormone have been targeted as a major factor in cardiovascular disease.

To talk about erectile dysfunction you should know how the penis works. Within the shaft of a penis is an area of intense vasculature, meaning it has many veins, called the corpus cavernosum. When a man is aroused there is an increase of blood flow into the corpus cavernosum that creates volume and pressure that makes up an erection. This simplistic explanation does not take into account the contributions of the neurological system and endocrine system.

Men with ED have more than just an issue with their blood flow and maintaining an erection, the structure of the penis can actually change and result in less smooth muscle within the member.

When testosterone is low in men they can acquire hypogonadism which is the result of the failure of the testes to produce testosterone at normal levels. The symptoms include loss of libido which ties into a basic issue with penile erection and problems having an orgasm.

This can be quite depressing to a man and indeed, depression is a large symptom of the disorder. This all lends credence to the proclamation that a man’s penis is important to his self worth. With abnormal functioning, real metabolic diseases can be the result. It has also been found that men that are obese have low levels of testosterone.

Case studies were the first to shine a light on men who were obese and how that affects a variety of systems, including the penis. Also, men with type II diabetes also battled impotency. Not having an erection can relate to real world conditions.

The relationship between low testosterone and impotence has been established, but there are circumstances such as being obese that make androgen production difficult to achieve in the first place. Staying fit and living a healthy active lifestyle can make erectile dysfunction a rarity rather than an inevitability.

It's no secret that the odds of facing prostate problems increase with age. But are men doomed to living with issues like an enlarged prostate?

It’s no secret that the odds of facing prostate problems increase with age. But are men doomed to living with issues like an enlarged prostate?

This may not be the case. Many living the Western lifestyle and used to the Western diet just think this way. While in Asian men, the odds are less that they will develop from prostate problems like an enlarged prostate. Two factors which contribute to this difference being diet and lifestyle.

So if you want to improve your prostate health watch your fat intake, eat more fruits and veggies, even take up drinking pomegranate juice. All are reported to help.

Now when it comes to food choice what else can you do?

Eating more soy products has proven to confer benefits to your prostate.

Eating a lot of fiber can also help. So you may want to load up on whole grains like beans and legumes. But cut back on sugar and processed flour.

By cutting back on dairy products, animal fats and fried foods get in the habit of eating healthy fats. These can be found in avocados, olive oil, fish, pumpkin seeds and almonds.

Another idea? Soak up the rays and get enough Vitamin D.

Eat more Brussels sprouts, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower and vegetables considered to be members of the cruciferous family. These are on many good for you to eat lists anyway. Plus they uniquely contain a potential anti prostate cancer ingredient that can help minimize the risks.

Weight management is also what we are aiming for. By eating a healthy diet you can avoid those extra pounds that can contribute to prostate problems.

And as always, keeping active and particularly getting more exercise. You’ll not only feel better but doing so also contributes to better prostate health.

Be smart and be aware of the decisions that involve your health. Regular exercise and a healthy diet will make a difference to your prostate health. By doing these things, you will be assured to prevent those pesky prostate issues. Most men tend to ignore this until it’s too late.

Freelancer Leonard Z Sennish reveals how each enlarged prostate symptom can be dealt with so that living with a swelling prostate is easier. Such things you’ll find covered at ProblemProstate.com include PSA test numbers and alternative treatments for prostate cancer. That and other topics of interest about your prostate gland are explained.

Prostate issues are not something that most men want to talk about but the simple truth is that with a little discussion you could avoid the fate that 90% of all men in their sixties suffer from.

Sexually, because it produces the fluid that carries your sperm, your prostate plays a major role in your quality of life. Unfortunately, over time due to hormonal changes your prostate gland grows. At birth your prostate only weights 1.5 grams, by your mid twenties it well weights 11 grams, in your fifties 18 grams and by the time you reach your sixties and seventies whooping 31 grams. This growth is called Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia or BPH for short.

As your prostate grows in size it pinches of the urethra and restricts the amount of urine flow. Ninety percent of all men in their sixties and seventies complain of some sort of prostate issue. Symptoms include hesitation, painful urination, erectile dysfunction and if left untreated surgery may be required. BPH and Prostate Cancer share The same symptoms but Prostate Cancer can come on very rapidly. This is why even as a young man you should have your prostate checked regularly.

Here is a list of minerals and herbs that you should look for in any dietary supplement dealing with your prostate.

* Zinc Chelate is a building block in the formation of RNA and DNA.

* Vitamin E is a strong antioxidant that protects your cell membranes.

* Selenium case studies have shown a 65% drop in prostate cancer rates in men who consume daily amounts of Selenium.

*Saw Palmetto extracts active ingredient Liposterolic produces concentrated levels of free fatty acids and sterols. Studies have shown that Saw Palmetto reduces the amount of Dihydrotestoeron DHT that causes the prostate to grow.

*Lycopene Extract found in tomato products. Studies have shown that people who eat large amounts of tomato’s and tomato products high in lycopene have a 21%decreased risk of developing prostate cancer.

*Corn Silk Powder Extract is used in the treatment of cystitis, urethritis and prostatitis.

*Enhinacea Angustifolia Root helps product white blood cells.

*Nettle Leaf prevents inflammatory action in the body, also affects hormone and proteins that carry testosterone and estrogen to the body.

The results came back as high readings, so the doctor drew more blood and did it again. The re-test had the same results. Wade's doctor then referred him to a urologist, who also took blood, and ran another test, and got the same results. At this point the urologist recommended a prostate biopsy. This is considered as an invasive procedure but this was no longer Wade's main concern. The results from the biopsy was confirmed a positive for prostate cancer.
Stories very similar to this are repeated thousands of times by men every year. Many times the outcome is not as good. That is the purpose of this brief article. There are many men who are not really sure what the prostate is. The intent of this article is to give a basic overview to educate about the male prostate and the most common disorders that can occur.

WHAT IS THE PROSTATE? The prostate is a walnut-sized gland located in front of the rectum and underneath the urinary bladder. It is found only in men. It surrounds the neck of a man’s bladder and the urethra. View a picture Here.

The urethra is the tube line that carries urine from the bladder and out through the penis. The prostate is partly muscular and partly glandular There are ducts opening into the prostatic portion of the urethra. It is made up of three lobes: a center lobe and one lobe on each side. The prostate starts to develop before birth and continues to grow until a man reaches adulthood.

The medical world is still not completely certain of all that the prostate does. But they do know that one of its main functions is to make some of the fluids that protects and carries sperm in semen. As a component of the male reproductive system, the prostate makes a good part of the fluids that makes up the semen which carries sperm. When the male ejaculates, the prostate gland propels fluid. This is combined with sperm that is made in the testicles. Semen then leaves the body out through the penis during ejaculation.

WHAT ARE MOST COMMON PROSTATE DISORDERS? In general there are four fairly common prostate ailments:

PROSTATODYNIA: This is a type of inflammation of the prostate not due to bacterial infection. There is typically no presence of infection fighting cells, or antibodies, present in the urine of men who suffer from the disease. Prostatodynia is typically a chronic, painful disease.

Symptoms including chills, fever, pain in the lower back and genital area. There is also body aches, burning or painful urination, and the frequent and urgent need to urinate. They characteristically go away and then come back without warning. The way prostatodynia is different from other prostate inflammations is that the urine and fluid from the prostate shows no signs of a known infecting organism or of cells that the body usually produces to fight infections.

Treatments for prostatodynia can varied from antibiotics, non steroid anti-inflammatory agents, and muscle relaxants to medications for chronic pain.

PROSTATITIS: is a benign non life threatening condition. It is not prostate cancer. It is also caused by swelling and inflammation of the prostate. It can create discomfort deep inside the pelvis. There also may be discomfort when passing urine or with ejaculation. The discomfort can spread to other areas of the pelvis.

Prostatitis can affect men of all ages. According to the National Institutes of Health, Prostatitis may account for up to 25% of all office visits for complaints involving the genital and urinary systems from young and middle-aged men. In fact, chronic Prostatitis, which means it doesn’t go away, is the number-one reason men under the age of 50 visits an urologist. Chronic Prostatitis may also be related to other urinary tract infections. Prostatitis is considered chronic if it lasts more than three months. If caused by an infection it may be treated with antibiotics. Treatment is specific to each case. There are types of Prostatitis that can be harder to treat, especially if symptoms have been ignored for some time.

BENIGN PROSTATIC HYPERLASIA (BPH): Also frequently referred to as prostate enlargement is quite common in older men. It too is a benign condition which is not prostate cancer. Some prostate enlargement is common in most men from age 50 onwards. And prostate enlargement occurs in 43 per cent of men age 60 and over. An enlarged prostate, means that your prostate gland has grown bigger. When the enlargement reaches a point where it starts to squeeze the urethra tube, which passes through the prostate, difficulties with urination can occur.

BPH is quite common, and it is rarely life threatening. The condition is what you frequently see on the TV commercials for treatments like Avodart. BPH treatments may require prescription antibiotics. In some very advanced cases, an operation is performed to widen the urethral. This procedure is called a trans-urethral resection of the prostate (TURP). General anesthetic is used, an instrument is inserted up the urethra through the penis and some of the prostate is removed which improves urine flow. The surgery may require a couple of days in hospital, with a catheter installed during recovery.

PROSTATE CANCER: This is the only one of the four disorders that is potentially life-threatening. It unfortunately does claim thousands of lives every year. One of the most worrying aspects is that many prostate cancers develop without men experiencing any symptoms at all. Prostate cancer is currently the second largest cause of male cancer deaths, after lung cancer. Almost one man in eleven will develop prostate cancer during his lifetime. Prostate cancer occurs when some of the cells of the prostate reproduce far more rapidly than in a normal prostate, causing a swelling or tumor. However, unlike BPH, prostate cancer cells eventually break out of the prostate and invade other parts of the body, particularly the bones and lymph nodes, producing secondary tumors, a process known as metastasis. Once the cancer escapes from the prostate, there are possible treatments but for now a cure is not possible.

Therefore the most important thing to remember from this article is early screening and early detection to catch it while it is still only inside the prostate. With early screening and detection the survival rate of prostate cancer is over 90%.

The first step is a simple blood test call PSA. This test measures the amount of prostate specific antigen in the blood. PSA is released into a man’s blood by the prostate gland. Healthy men have low amounts of PSA in the blood. If the screening test comes back showing elevated levels then further testing, including a biopsy, may be advised by your doctor.

But it all starts with the PSA screening. It is recommended as an annual blood screen for men in their 50’s and older. However African American males have higher rates of prostate cancer. Also any man with a history of prostate cancer on their father’s side. Men in these groups really should begin getting testing their mid 40’s.

It is a very simple test that could save your life.

Are you suffering from BPH yet are not interested in any invasive treatment options? Then you might want to know something about Flomax. It’s trusted drug treatment for the relief from the symptoms of BPH.

And it is true. Alpha blockers like Flomax have been widely used to treat ailments like enlarged prostates. These drugs work by relieving the muscle tension around the prostate and bladder. They provide relief from problems with urination however they do not affect the size of the prostate unlike enzyme inhibitors. You see, alpha blockers are used to treat mild to moderate BPH. Their fast-acting formulation gives significant improvement within a few days for many or within weeks for others.

Okay so like the ads on TV suggest Flomax is a widely used successfully by guys with BPH. So what?

Well there are some nagging side effects associated with this drug you might want to be aware of. The most common being low blood pressure, fainting spells, dizziness, headache, stuffy nose and the like. However these usually diminish over time.

Still men already coping with low blood pressure probably should not take Flomax.

The potential of successful treatment of BPH with this drug should take into account the degree of prostate enlargement. Those with more serious enlargements will most likely improve using combination treatments using both alpha blockers and enzyme inhibitors.

When it comes to identifying which drug is most cost effective Flomax may not be your best bet. Consider the generic alternative, Doxazosin. Drugs like these, though not as widely advertised, fall under the same category, are cheaper, and often are just as effective.

Flomax dominates the BPH market which has been growing fast due to the increasing number of BPH sufferers. In fact so much demand has been created that even those with only mild conditions have bought it. Yet too often other drugs which are just as effective in relieving the symptoms of prostate enlargement have been ignored. This impacts both national and personal health care costs.

Now that we know some of the dirty little secrets about Flomax, how do you decide what to do in your case?

Aside from considering alternatives to Flomax which are not as expensive yet just as effective, why not try to limit your intake of caffeine and alcohol? Also, reducing fluid intake at night to avoid having to get up to urinate would help. Above all do not forget that a consultation session with your doctor should be sought to provide you with the information and advice so you pick the best drug treatment for your BPH symptoms.

Finding natural remedies for enlarge prostate can be just a walk to your neighborhood alternative cure pharmacy or spending some time doing research online. Natural remedies for enlarge prostate will drastically reduce the illness which affects an increasing number of men over the age of 40, particularly African American men.

There is, without a doubt, a need for natural remedies for prostate as an alternative to pharmaceutical drugs. Enlarge prostate or Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy or BHP affects more than have of men in the United States over the age of 50 and nearly three thirds of those over 65.

If the disease is not treated promptly it can escalate into prostate cancer. There are some natural remedies which seems to do well with patients suffering from BPH. Zinc taken about 3 times daily comes highly recommended.

Foods rich in essential fatty acids, such as fish and nuts, diets rich in fiber and pumpkin seeds are great sources of zinc. Research has indicated that compounds found in the oil within the seeds of pumpkin may slow down the growth of prostate cells augmented by testosterone.

In addition, carotenoids and healthy fat found in pumpkin seeds may also reduce the risk of cancer.

Studies have shown that drinking 4 ounce glass of red wine a day may cut prostate cancer risk by 50 percent.

In addition, saw palmetto and amino acids are highly recommended.

Further, mango has shown increase promise for prostate health. According to scientists at the Industrial Toxicology Research Centre (ITRC), mango pulp may provide an effective non-invasive method of treating prostrate cancer.

After administering mango pulp to mice affected with cancer, scientists, investigating the healing properties of the fruit, noticed that the tumor in the mice was radically suppressed.

The scientists believe that a chemical compound found in mango called “lupeol” is the reason for the suppression of tumor cells in the mice.

Scientist Yogeshwar Shukla points out that while blocking cancer cells from growing, lupeol also has anti-carcinogenic properties that fight well against other health disorders. He said that certain compounds such as organic acids, specific vitamins, carbohydrates, and polyphenols, which are present in lupeol, give it the strength to fight off numerous health disorders.

ITRC scientists state that it is very difficult to detect prostrate cancer because it has the most subtle malignant cells. They said that India has seen an enormous increase of prostrate cancer patients lately, but neither radiation therapy, chemotherapy nor surgery has proven successful in treating the disease. As a result, the scientists felt the need for research in this area which started them on their study on lupeol and its relationship with prostrate cancer.

Here are some additional foods and herbs recommended as remedies for enlarge prostate:

Beer, Broccoli, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Chile, Peppers, Cranberries, Guavas, Pink Grapefruits and Pomegranate Juic

There are many alternative medicines and natural cures on the market. Find out which natural cure for enlarge prostate is good for you

Males within the United States along with the rest from the world should realize that prostate challenges are said to be rare globally.

Males within the United States along with the rest from the world should realize that prostate challenges are said to be rare globally.

(Even though not unknown — I know a Filipino with prostate cancer.)

Nonetheless, it does appear that a modern sedentary lifestyle and diet is not optimum for prostate health.

General recommendations are:

Eat less fat, cholesterol, red meat and dairy foods. And take in a lot more fruits and veggies. When you consume grains, eat unprocessed whole grains.

It appears that foods which include red meat and dairy that tend to be high in fat and cholesterol are also high in alpha-linolenic acid which may possibly stimulate tumor growth.

Fruits and veggies supply beta-carotene which has been shown to slow or stall growth of cancer cells. The cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, Swiss chard, Ethiopian mustard, kale, collard greens, Chinese broccoli, kohlrabi, bok choy, turnip root greens and rutabaga are especially powerful mainly because they contain 3.3′-Diindolylmethane (DIM), which is an androgen receptor antagonist in human prostate cancer cells.

Some researchers believe that Japanese guys have an extremely low rate of prostate cancer because they try to eat plenty of soybean-based foods; along with the soy isoflavones protect them. Others put it down to the low fat intake with the Japanese. Some scientists claim that mainly because these same soy isoflavones mimic the female hormone estrogen, they may perhaps feminize adult men by decreasing their ratio of testosterone to estrogen.

I for one am quite sure that 95% of Japanese men would never knowingly consume anything that could reduce their masculinity, but approach soy foods with care.

One of the most important mineral for men’s health is undoubtedly zinc. Balanced prostates contain ten times far more zinc than any other body organ. Studies have found that gentlemen with genitourinary complications are deficient in zinc. It’s important to healthy prostate functioning, testosterone production and sperm formation.

A well-known important phytochemical for gentlemen is lycopene. That’s what gives red color to meals, specifically tomatoes. It’s a powerful antioxidant that slows and prevents the growth of cancer cells. So try to eat as quite a few tomatoes as it is possible to. And since lycopene is not destroyed by cooking, eat your cooked tomatoes and sauces too. In addition, try to eat watermelon, strawberries and grapefruit.

One of the most commonly advised herbs to support males with benign prostate hyperplasia (BHP) — a prostate swollen by age — is saw palmetto and Pygeum africanum. They both seem to work by providing beta sitosterol which inhibits the formation of DHT which causes that enlarged prostate which can make you get up five times a night to go to the bathroom.

So you can now take beta sitosterol supplements. Numerous also include zinc, lycopene and other helpful nutrients.

Research shows that gentlemen who exercise at least an hour per day have fewer prostate difficulties than adult men who don’t. Exercise also helps to maintain your body’s levels of free testosterone.

Real guys aren’t couch potatoes — if you wish to feel manly, get off your rear end and move.
